Product Overview

The AKFST-GS of AK-47 front sight tools is a heavy-duty GUNSMITH EDITION of the standard AKFST. It has a larger clamp to handle the most stubborn front sights, and a 6.5" long torque arm to give you even more leverage. No extra tools are required. The AKFST-GS has a limited life-time warranty - if the tool breaks under normal use, send the tool back to Magna-Matic for a replacement (see www.magna-matic-defense.com for full warranty details, terms, and conditions.) The UNBREAKABLE AKFST-GS is 900% stronger than the current generic “C-clamp” type tools. Now with the AKFST-GS you’ll never have to re-buy a front sight tool due to breakage on a frozen AK sight. The AKFST-GS also makes range adjustments even easier, don't let a frozen AK front sight force you to run back to your shop to make adjustments.

The all new AKFST-GS for 2014 has many new features for gunsmiths to adjust any AK-type rifle's front sight.
  1. Two sets of non-marring set screws (brass tipped and nylon tipped) to conform to any front sight block shape
  2. New improved elevation adjustment tool to be even stronger than before
  3. Drum pusher now is non-marring due to its rotational head
  4. Heavy duty full circle design for strength, all CNC machined steel, zinc plated
  5. Extra long torque arm to give you greater leverage to make more accurate adjustments
  6. Two sets of non-marring set screws (brass tipped and nylon tipped)
  7. Full range of motion allows you to fully push a sight drum out of the front sight block for repair/replacement

WINDAGE! The ultra-strong full-circle clamp provides and adjustable set screws allow 100% positive contact to the sight post. The heavy-duty full-circle clamp and over-sized push rod provides the strength to move the most stubborn frozen sight. Perfect alignment of the drum is easy by viewing the drum through the sight adjustment port of the AKFST-GS. The head of the pusher that contacts the drum is mounted on a ball so that when you turn the T-handle the part contacting the sight drum will not rotate. This prevents any marring against the drum. Our pusher is mounted on a ball, like a single ball bearing (see cut-away images)

ELEVATION! The precision machined tip of this adjustable T-handle wrench seats onto the sight post to give you a 100% positive hold on even the most frozen of sight posts. The long lever, which is able to be positioned for greater leverage makes adjustment simple and easy. Note: the T-handle rod can slide to any position to provide more leverage, all images are shown with max leverage.

    This is an awesome tool. It is super heavy duty works beautifully on my PSAK GF-5E. I am very impressed with the quality and versitility of the tool. If you have an AK or SKS, you NEED one of these.

    I tried to use an old Choate Tool made for SKS / AK-47 sight adjustment that I've had since the 1990's on a new AK-47 I recently purchased. I wanted to adjust the windage on the new rifle, but the Choate Tool failed miserably. I was afraid it would mar the finish on the new rifle. I spent the extra $ for the AKFST-Gunsmith Edition and I'm glad I did. The nylon screws on one side and the swiveling contact point on the other side did the trick. This tool did not try to walk or pivot like the Choate Tool did. I highly recommend the Gunsmith Edition. It is well worth the extra expense.

    This is clearly the best tool on the market for adjusting the stubborn pressed front sights on many rifles. The tool is well built and provides the best protection for the metal on the gun to minimize markings from adjustment. The tool is 100% as described and a million times better than the cheap C-Clamp style $10 adjustment tools. You get what you pay for and this tool will be the only one you need to buy for good. Well done Magna-Matic!

    Wow! Simply the best. I traded my AK rifle for a more compact version and my C-clamp style sight adjuster would not work. Did some research and bought the Gunsmith edition and wow! Amazing tool. Used the set screws as instructed and fit like a dream. Very solid tool. A must have for any AK. Don't waste time on others. Just spend the little extra and get the Gunsmith edition to work with any AK sight you have.

    For the record I had the most stubborn and frozen drum on my RH10. You will also need this for a front sight gas combo, but as I was trying to break free of the drum I damaged and broke a component of the tool. Got in touch with customer service and they sent me the replacement part. I offered to pay for it and shipping but they already had me a tracking number with the return email. Amazing customer service and an even more amazing product.

    The gunsmith version is the perfect edition to your AK tool kit. Make sure you order this one if you have a front sight gas block combo. I made the mistake of ordering the regular version and magna Matic took it back no questions asked and got me the gunsmith version which will work on anything. The service from this company is top notch and they will go way out of their way to make sure your happy. I would recommend this front sight tool and this company to anyone and hope to do more business with them in the future.
